# Emm documentation

Emm is an issue tracker with a macOS desktop app and a standalone command-line tool for macOS and Linux. These guides accompany the October 19, 2026 update, including labels, multiple Notes windows, and project image sharing.

## Vocabulary

- **Project** — a workspace for teams and issues, stored in a folder containing `emm.db`.
- **Team** — a group of related issues inside a project.
- **Issue** — one item of work, identified by its number (for example 42 or #42).
- **Notes** — your Markdown files, opened and edited in Emm.

Basic work on your own computer needs no account. Sharing a project or Notes is a separate, explicit action.
